Ventilation/Measures against mold and dew

It could get humid in airtight rooms. In rainy seasons and in winter (dew), mold can grow on closets, behind furniture, bathroom, basin, and shoe box.

It is important to dehumidify the room to prevent mold. Ventilate the room by opening windows and closets of each rooms. Please set furniture at least 3cm away from the wall.  Using duckboards and dehumidifying sheets in closets can also help.

<Precautions against mold and dew>

(1)Ventilating is required more in winter
Open windows and closets for about 3 minutes, 2 to 3 times a day. The humidity goes up when you are cooking or bathing. Please circulate the air by turning on the exhaust fan or opening the window.

(2)Keep the air vent open
Please keep the air vent of each room always open. When air vents are closed, it cannot exhaust humid air. This can cause dew and mold. Please make sure furniture or other objects are not blocking the air vent, and do not turn off the 24 hour exhaust fan in the room/bathroom.

(3)Water vapor is the worst cause of dew
Humidifiers, houseplants, and undried laundry can make the humidity to go up and cause dew. Use the timer on the air conditioning devices and ventilate occasionally to keep the air not too humid. Also, please wipe off dew on the windows frequently.

(4)If you find mold on wallpaper and so on
Please use mold remover sprays (sold at home centers) and wipe off after an hour using a tightly wrung cloth. This might not work for old mold. To use the room long and nicely, please clean the room often.

(5)About the dew on the floor
The temperature difference between in the room and under the floor can cause dew on flooring. In addition to the precautions above, if you are using a rug or carpet on the floor, please remove and dry it periodically to help the air to circulate.

<Notice>
We may charge you if the room is damaged by dew.
