Ventilation/Measures against mold and dew

It could get humid in airtight rooms. In rainy seasons and in winter (dew), mold can grow on closets, behind furniture, bathroom, basin, and shoe box.

It is important to dehumidify the room to prevent mold. Ventilate the room by opening windows and closets of each rooms. Please set furniture at least 3cm away from the wall.  Using duckboards and dehumidifying sheets in closets can also help.

① Make some passage for air behind furniture.
② Open closets sometimes to refresh air.
③ Open windows on sunny days for ventilation.

Dew can cause mold, stains and humidity. Please read the following.

(1)Ventilating is required more in winter.
Open windows and closets for about 3 minutes, 2 to 3 times a day. Keep the air vent of each rooms always open. Air vents intakes fresh air and helps the circulation.
When air vents are closed, it cannot exhaust humid air and kitchen smoke. This can cause dew and mold.

(2)Always use the vent fan when cooking or bathing.
In rooms with 24-hour fan, air will be kept fresh by operating all times. Please do not turn it off.

(3)Water vapor is the worst cause of dew
Especially stove, humidifier, house plants, and undried laundry cause water vapor. Use timer on stove and humidifier, ventilate occasionally, to keep the air not too humid.

(4)Wipe off dew on windows frequently

(5)If you find mold on wallpaper and so on, use mold remover sprays (sold at home improvement centers), and wipe off after an hour using tightly wringed. This might not work for old mold so please do so once you find new mold. To use the room long and nicely, please clean the room often.
