Water pipes and water heaters can freeze in freezing temperatures, and if they do, you will have to wait for them to thaw naturally.
We ask for your cooperation in preventing freezing.
Since freeze prevention varies depending on the building, region, faucet specifications, etc., please contact
Daito Kentaku Customer Support.
■Water Pipes
If freezing is anticipated, keep a little water running before going to bed at night to prevent freezing. Please be aware that it may freeze even during the daytime in cold regions.
※If water pipes are frozen, you will have to wait for them to thaw naturally.
■Water Heaters
・If your bath has a reheating system, please keep the water higher than the circulation holes in the bath tub. Some water heaters are equipped with a “freezing prevention function” for the bath reheating system (to automatically circulate
the water in the reheating system).
・To prevent the freezing of pipes in winter, do not turn off the electric breaker even when you are away for days or when you move-out. The freeze prevention function of the water heater does not work without electricity, and it may cause
pipes to freeze or break.

■Draining water pipes
・In cold regions, if you are away for a long period of time or a freeze advisory is issued, please drain water from pipes by opening all water faucets (including hot water) after closing the main water cock of your apartment (see your unit
number on the cock).
・Water meters are usually inside a blue lid on the ground located outside your apartment. Please make sure it should have the number of your unit. If the meter has no number, please contact
Daito Kentaku Customer Support.
・If a
water drainage system is installed, please follow the procedure.
